Description

A refreshing and creamy German cucumber salad with dill, known as Gurkensalat, made with simple ingredients and authentic flavor.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large cucumbers
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Wash and slice cucumbers thinly

2. Salt cucumbers and rest 20 minutes

3. Drain and pat dry cucumbers

4. Slice onion thinly

5. Mix sour cream, vinegar, sugar, dill, and garlic

6. Add cucumbers and onions to dressing

7. Mix gently and chill for 1 hour

8. Stir and serve cold

Notes

  • Use fresh dill for best flavor
