Description
Easy turkey lettuce wraps with fresh lime juice make a healthy, quick lunch with lean protein, crisp vegetables, and a bright citrus finish.
Ingredients
- 500g ground turkey
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion diced
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
- 1/2 cup grated carrots
- 1/2 cup diced cucumber
- 1/4 cup scallions sliced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- 1/4 cup water or broth
- 3 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 1 tsp lime zest
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Pinch of salt
- 12–16 lettuce leaves
- 2 tbsp chopped cilantro
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- Optional avocado
Instructions
1. Prepare all ingredients by chopping and grating vegetables.
2. Heat olive oil and cook onion until soft.
3. Add garlic and ginger and stir until fragrant.
4. Add ground turkey and cook until browned.
5. Mix in carrots, soy sauce, sesame oil, pepper, and paprika.
6. Add water and simmer briefly.
7. Remove from heat and stir in cucumber and scallions.
8. Mix lime juice, zest, honey, olive oil, and salt.
9. Fill lettuce leaves with turkey mixture.
10. Drizzle lime sauce and garnish with cilantro and sesame seeds.
Notes
- Swap turkey with chicken or plant-based protein.
- Adjust lime juice for stronger citrus flavor.
- Store filling up to 3 days refrigerated.
