Description
Classic crockpot green beans with bacon is a slow-cooked Southern comfort dish packed with smoky flavor, tender beans, and rich broth.
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
- 6–8 slices thick-cut bacon
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp butter
Instructions
1. Cook bacon in skillet until lightly crispy, then set aside.
2. Sauté onion in bacon drippings until soft.
3. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
4. Place green beans in crockpot.
5. Add onion and garlic mixture.
6. Chop bacon and scatter over beans.
7. Pour in chicken broth and add seasonings.
8. Top with butter.
9. Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours.
10. Stir, adjust seasoning, and serve warm.

- Use smoked bacon for deeper flavor.
- Add apple cider vinegar for tang.
