- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh chopped parsley (optional garnish)
- Extra grated Parmesan (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked to 165°F internal temperature. Remove and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium. Melt butter in the same skillet. Add diced onion and cook 3-4 minutes until soft. Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds.
- Pour in chicken broth and scrape up browned bits. Simmer 3-4 minutes.
- Add heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Simmer 5-7 minutes until thickened.
- Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over top. Simmer 5 minutes.
- Garnish with parsley and Parmesan. Serve hot.
