Ingredients
- 12 oz egg noodles
- 1 medium green cabbage, sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (optional)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar (optional)
- Fresh parsley (optional)
- Cooked bacon or sausage (optional)
Instructions
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook egg noodles until tender. Drain and set aside.
2. Slice cabbage and onion into thin strips.
3. Heat butter (and olive oil if using) in a large skillet over medium heat.
4. Add onions and cook for 5โ7 minutes until soft and golden.
5. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
6. Add cabbage and stir to combine with onions.
7. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and sugar.
8. Cover and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
9. Uncover and cook another 10โ15 minutes until cabbage is tender and lightly caramelized.
10. Add cooked noodles and toss everything together.
11. Cook for 2โ3 minutes, adjust seasoning, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.
