Description
Easy Crockpot Teriyaki Chicken is a dump and go slow cooker dinner with tender chicken thighs simmered in a sweet and savory homemade teriyaki sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
1. Place chicken thighs in slow cooker
2. Whisk soy sauce, water, brown sugar, honey, garlic, ginger, and vinegar
3. Pour sauce over chicken
4. Cover and cook on LOW for 4 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours
5. Remove chicken and keep warm
6. Mix cornstarch with cold water to make slurry
7. Stir slurry into sauce and cook on HIGH until thickened
8. Return chicken to sauce and coat well
9. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds
10. Serve over rice or noodles
Notes
- Marinate chicken for extra flavor if time allows
- Use chicken breasts but reduce cook time slightly
- Adjust sweetness to taste
- Add vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas
- Store leftovers up to 4 days or freeze up to 3 months
