Description

A rich, flavorful creamy garlic parmesan chicken pasta with tender seared chicken, silky garlic-parmesan sauce, and fresh parsley. Ready in under 30 minutes for the perfect weeknight or special occasion meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts, cut in half lengthwise
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or dry white wine
  • 1 cup heavy/whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken in half lengthwise so you have 4 thinner pieces. Season them generously on both sides with salt & pepper and garlic powder.
  2. Add olive oil and butter to a skillet over medium-high heat and let it heat for a few minutes.
  3. Cook the chicken for about 5-6 minutes per side or until seared and cooked through. Transfer chicken to a plate and tent with foil.
  4. Turn heat back to medium-high. Add flour and garlic to skillet, cooking for about a minute while stirring.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and whisk until flour dissolves; reduce by half.
  6. Stir in cream, let it bubble gently until thickened to your preference.
  7. Remove from heat, stir in parmesan until melted.
  8. Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over top, season if needed, and sprinkle parsley before serving.

Notes

Use an instant-read thermometer to check chicken reaches 165°F.

Substitute half-and-half for a lighter version, simmer longer to thicken.

Pairs well with garlic bread or a fresh salad.
