Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup freshly grated Asiago cheese
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Remove chicken from refrigerator 15–20 minutes before cooking. Pat dry and pound to even thickness if needed.
- Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear chicken 5–6 minutes per side until golden and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Remove and tent with foil.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add minced garlic and sauté 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth and scrape up browned bits from the pan. Simmer 2–3 minutes.
- Slowly stir in heavy cream. Add dried Italian seasoning and paprika. Simmer 4–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Gradually whisk in Asiago cheese until fully melted and smooth.
- Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top. Simmer gently 4–5 minutes.
- Garnish with parsley and serve warm over pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes.
Notes
- Freshly grated Asiago melts more smoothly than pre-shredded.
- Half-and-half may be substituted for a lighter sauce.
- Add sautéed mushrooms or spinach for extra flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently over low heat to prevent sauce separation.
