- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and spray a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick spray.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs, sour cream, and vanilla; mix until creamy.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine dry ingredients into the wet mixture and stir gently.
- Add mashed bananas and fold in until just combined.
- Pour batter into the pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean or with moist crumbs.
- Let the cake cool completely before frosting.
- To make the frosting, beat butter and cream cheese together until smooth.
- Add vanilla, powdered sugar, and cream. Beat until thick and fluffy.
- Spread frosting evenly over the cooled cake.
- Garnish with banana slices or chopped walnuts before serving.
Notes
For best texture, use full-fat sour cream and real cream cheese.
Let the cake sit overnight for deeper banana flavor.
Store frosted cake in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
